Audience Size: Anywhere from a few dozen to several hundred, depending on your needs and facility.
Equipment:
- A power point projector
- A microphone if the group is larger than 50 students
- Screen or wall space for power point presentation, and the ability to darken the room
Honorarium and Other Fee
- Outside of San Francisco Bay Area:
- Three-day trip: $1,200 per day plus travel expenses
- Two-day trip: $1,400 per day plus travel expenses
- One-day trip: $1,600 plus travel expenses
- San Francisco Bay Area:
- Full day visit: $1,200
- Half-day visit: $900
- One session: $500
- Travel Expenses include: air ticket, hotel, meals and ground transportation. If the schools choose to pay the author per diem, the travel expenses will be as follows (except for a one day trip which may be higher) :
- West coast: $300 per day
- East coast: $400 per day
- Between coasts: $350 per day
Day Visit Schedule
A full day visit includes :
- Two presentations at 45 minutes plus 15 minutes Q&A each. (The two presentations can also be shared between middle school and elementary school upon request)
- A small group discussion or classroom visits (30-40 minutes )
- Book signing
A half-day visit includes:
- One presentation at 45 minutes plus 15 minutes Q&A.
- A small group discussion or classroom visits (30-40 minutes )
- Book signing
Notes:
- If nearby schools would like to share a day to reduce the cost, the schools should coordinate the schedules. 15 minutes break between presentations is preferred.
- Three-day trips are recommended for cost and time effectiveness. The librarian's Internet network is an effective channel to recruit nearby schools.
- For those who have to do more presentations because their facility can't accommodate the whole students group, please advise the author in advance.
Books:
The author can bring both books at a 20% discount for autograph. Preorder is preferred.
Speaker :
The author is also available to speak at conferences and conventions. The honorarium is negotiable depending on the number of attendees and location.
